Employee Assistance Plan

Definition of Employee Assistance Program

Guardian’s EAP is not a group health plan, but provides professional, confidential assessment, assistance and/or referral and short-term counseling at no cost to you.  The Work Life Matters Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a service purchased by EDENS for full time employees that provides confidential and professional help to resolve your problems that are affecting you and your family.

Why EDENS needs an EAP

Balancing work with life/family issues is not always easy to do.  When problems become persistent and unmanageable, they may affect your sense of well-being or interfere in important relationships with your family, friends, or your supervisor and/or co-workers.

The EAP program helps you get fast, practical help before personal problems become work problems.

Confidential – EDENS will not know about use of EAP

Unless you decide to tell them, EDENS will not know about your use of the EAP.  Your decision to use EAP services is voluntary and confidential.  No EAP record is placed in your personal file, and EDENS receives no report of who has contacted the EAP.
